Basically, "Chickens" are sorted magic-user types, "Beefs" are the fighters, while "Sides" are everyone else, more or less. I can tell that the Order of the Backed Potato are basically D&D Druids, but I have no idea what the Order of French Fries are supposed to be.

Now, I know the game is going for a theme and style, but D&D-based fantasy RPGs have well established tropes and short-hands that allow players to know almost insistently what you are about to play. But there is a big disconnect when I'm saying: "My character is a Wendy's Double Bacon Cheeseburger." The descriptions are not at all helpful.Malcadonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03111796978336546944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2589165667013235064.post-38492065975317575432019-10-20T23:33:36.313-04:002019-10-20T23:33:36.313-04:00I was wrong, I have two more D&Ds nearby. Rules Cyclopedia camels have no mention of spitting.faoladhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03691952430041394614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2589165667013235064.post-54652378633405244002019-10-20T23:22:27.406-04:002019-10-20T23:22:27.406-04:00Your mention of camels has inspired me to look thi...Your mention of camels has inspired me to look things up.

5E also does not mention spitting in its information about the camel. Both the 1E Monster Manual and the 2E Monstrous Compendium do include information about camels spitting and provide a mechanic for it. Swords & Wizardry camels spit, but no mechanics are provided. Delving Deeper provides no information about camels (or elephants, both of which seem odd in a game that descends from a medieval miniatures game, even if it is by way of other games), but shockingly this seems to be a reflection of both Chainmail and original D&D, neither of which include information about camels (or elephants)! Adventures Dark and Deep mentions camels spitting, but explicitly indicates that this has no mechanical effect.

Leaving the realm of D&Ds since I've run out of versions within easy reach, GURPS 4E sadly includes no official information about the camel's spitting attack, nor does it mention the behavior, though it does spend time on their bad temper. The GURPS 3E Bestiary does mention spitting (while still failing to provide any mechanics for this, though that's probably okay really). RuneQuest 3 (the Avalon Hill edition) does not provide information about camels.faoladhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03691952430041394614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2589165667013235064.post-68885350039926609562019-10-20T19:56:13.825-04:002019-10-20T19:56:13.825-04:00I think it’s a good idea because RPG players are g...I think it’s a good idea because RPG players are generally health food nuts and exercise freaks who would not think of eating a cheeseburger.
