In July 2012, Wizards of the Coast republished the three core 1st edition AD&D books. When they were originally published in the late 70's, Gary Gygax was listed as the sole author. Some of you may recall that this engendered a
“creative rights dispute” between Dave Arneson and Gygax. The terms of a 1981 settlement specified that Arneson would receive “co-creator” credit for Dungeons & Dragons. However, the 2012 versions of the books do not even hint at Arneson's contributions (
click this link). Are you OK with that? If so, take out your OSR membership card and tear it to pieces.
